Why Plant Assessor?

Plant Assessor provides a range of safety inspection services to Pickles across 13 geographic locations, as well as inspecting equipment at a multitude of sales held on client sites.

When considering how to handle safety inspection of its vendors’ plant & equipment, Pickles considered a range of factors, and Plant Assessor were able to help work through consideration of these issues.

Pickles chose Plant Assessor to provide a full inspection service for all of its Industrial operations across Australia, as Bruce Connors recalls below.

“Firstly, we considered the option of doing our own plant safety inspections. We decided this was not the best option for us, as it may have been perceived as a conflict of interest if we were identifying safety deficiencies in vendor equipment. We were also unsure of our ability to develop and maintain suitable knowledge of safety legislation and Australian Standards.”

This saw Pickles decide to engage external professional inspectors to conduct plant safety inspections. Bruce goes on to outline some of the reasons behind choosing Plant Assessor to provide these services.

“We knew the guys from Plant Assessor as we had worked with them before, and they had illustrated both superior industry knowledge and customer service. On top of this, they showed us their Plant Assessor online inspection system, which convinced us that plant safety inspections would be of the highest quality,” Bruce said.

Continual Improvement

Pickles and Plant Assessor continue to work together to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and service of the plant safety inspection process.
