The company was founded by Paul Dean in 2004 after working in the motor vehicle and machinery auction industry and realising the complexity and lack of standardisation when managing machinery and equipment compliance.

We have grown to become Australia’s largest machinery compliance community, and are used by thousands of organisations throughout Australia and New Zealand to help capture and share machinery information, as well as ensure equipment is safe for use and accompanied by the right safety information.

In December 2023, Plant Assessor became part of Ideagen, a global leader in software solutions for regulated and high-compliance industries, supporting companies across the globe to manage their risk, health and safety, quality, audit and collaboration needs.

Our industry leading, cloud-based platform contains details of more than 120,000 makes and models of plant and equipment, and is trusted by the biggest names in machinery and equipment to help them manage their machinery safety systems.
