Here’s the latest from the Plant Assessor new desk: Enjoy.

Paul Dean | Founder/Director
If there’s one thing COVID taught us about tech, it’s that our reliance on it has reached an all-time high. In the wake of the pandemic, as companies closed their offices, and staff settled into a lengthy lockdown, it was the ability to work remotely that kept many businesses going – and thousands of people in jobs.

Matthew Turner | Managing Director
A Perth waste recycling company has been ordered to pay $330,000 – along with an additional $234,000 in costs – after an incident that resulted in a labour hire worker’s arm being amputated.
PA TEAM NEWS
We’ve welcomed two new starters to the Plant Assessor team this month!

David was born in Newcastle and grew up in the Nelson Bay area. He attended Tomaree High School and after completing Year 12, moved into Newcastle to begin a Bach Computer Science degree at the University of Newcastle.
In the final year of his degree, he was successful in applying for a Software Development traineeship with Provet, a local veterinary distribution company. After eight years, David moved onto a new role at Kip McGrath Education Centres, where he helped build a new suite of online tutoring software and tools used by K-12 students across AU/NZ and the UK. These roles gave him the experience in the software development industry and helped form the software development principles he adheres to today.
In his spare time, David enjoys gaming and pretty much anything and everything tech related. He also enjoys getting away from the screen as much as possible, whether that’s going for a run, cycling or heading down to the beach.
He’s looking forward to working with the wider Plant Assessor team and building some great software along the way.

Rae was born and raised in Coffs Harbour on Mid-North Coast. Growing up, she was a successful dancer and gymnast. After completing her HSC at CHEC (Coffs Harbour Education Campus), Rae began her all-rounder hospitality career at the C.ex, and has since worked in several hospitality positions up and down the coast.
Rae has recently started part time studying her Cert III in Horticulture online, pursuing her passion for the environment.
When she moved to Newcastle, Rae took a brief break from hospitality and worked as Assistant Manager for two years at retail store, Tree of Life. She returned to hospitality working as a barista at the Swell Kiosks – found on iconic Nobbys and Bar beach.
She likes to spend her weekends surfing with her partner Corey, doing yoga, camping, and spending time with her 12 year old Siberian husky, Bronson.
