Kymberly Lemon – Business Support Specialist
Background: I was born in Maitland and went to school there as well, attending Maitland Grossmann High School. I’ve lived in Maitland most of my life but spent a few years away living in Sydney and Swansea. I’m the eldest sibling of 8, having 4 half brothers, 2 step brothers and 1 step sister. I’ve played soccer for over 15 years and have even done some refereeing as well. I played flute in primary school but haven’t really played since.
Education: I went to The University of Newcastle for 1 year studying primary school teaching. I have completed my Certificate II in Retail Services, Certificate III in Business Administration, Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking.
Career: I worked with my Mum from the age of 5, helping her out in cafes and kitchens. My first official job was when I was 13 working in a fish and chip shop. I then did a week of work experience at Spotlight when I was 16 and was offered a job there. I then went on to work in kitchens at Moly-Cop, the Muswellbrook power stations and Singleton Army base. I had numerous different roles there from a cook, food/beverage attendant and supervisor. I then changed career paths from working in hospitality to starting my career in admin. I moved to Sydney to get some work experience, working at a printing company and then an accounting firm. After I had some work experience in the administration area, I moved back to Maitland and worked 4 years at a Family Day Care doing admin and marketing. From there I moved into finance, doing loan settlements for a mortgage broker when I studied my mortgage broking qualification as well, but unfortunately the company closed which has brought me to my current position at Plant Assessor.
Outside work: I’m not married and I don’t have children, but my family has a 1 year old Aussie Shepherd. I spend most of my spare time playing soccer, going to the gym, playing video games or hanging with my friends and family.
