Introducing Premium Pre Starts

Written by Plant Assessor | March 2022

For years, we’ve helped thousands of operators ensure their equipment is safe to use, with digital pre-starts, tailor made for their machines.

We’ve introduced some NEW premium features, making it even easier to keep on top of pre-starts, set custom service intervals, and make sure maintenance and work orders are taken care of.

What is it?

Premium Pre Starts is a new premium feature that introduces issue and work order management, greater flexibility and customisation around service intervals (including multiple meters and time intervals), automatic notifications and reporting.

When setting up a Premium Pre Start machine, the user will be presented with up to two meters – odometers, hour meters, or a mixture of both to match that machine type.

The user can then set their own custom service intervals based on both the meter reading and a time based interval – for example, 10,000kms or 6 months, whichever comes first.

When performing a Premium Pre Start inspection, the user will be able to add photos on a per question basis.

If a problem is identified during the inspection, then within the inspection results this is displayed as an Issue. The Issue list gives the user an option to create a Work Order based on that Issue, assigning a timer period to correct the issue and assign it to an appropriate person, who can then complete the work order, and add optional detail about the time and cost of the repair if they so wish.

Any items within an inspection that have not been rectified will carry across to the next inspection, with that particular question prefilled as a No.

Premium Pre Starts can now be viewed on a dashboard, which also includes details on the pre starts performed, whether any non-critical or critical issues were flagged, and whether work orders were created against them over the past 24 hours.

In addition to the dashboard reporting, users can opt in to a daily email that will send a summary of pre starts and their details, as well as being notified instantly of machines that have been deemed unsafe to use.

Why it matters

Premium Pre Starts gives users greater transparency, more control and more flexibility when managing their pre starts, particularly when when issues are flagged.

How does it work?

Anyone who has a PAYG or Enterprise membership has access to Premium Pre Starts.

A user can select one or more machines from their Machines list within Plant Assessor, and then select the Manage Premium Pre Starts button.

This will allow users to enable Premium Pre Starts on a per-machine basis.

By turning this on, the users will now see the custom service intervals on the machine details modal, as well as get access to the dashboard from the reporting menu, opt-in to email notifications from the My Account or Owners modal in the Notifications tab.

The Premium Pre Starts can be accessed by clicking on the Premium Pre Start icon, on the machines page, for machines that have had this feature enabled. This is similar to the existing functionality, except that on the second tab, after completing the Pre Start, there is a new option available at the top of the tab to “Manage Issues”, where the users can find their issues and work orders for this pre start.

Who gets it?

This option is available to everyone with a PAYG or Enterprise membership, and to all machine types, however will need to be enabled by the users.
