Plant Assessor joins Ideagen to accelerate growth plans

Written by Plant Assessor | January 2024

Ideagen, a global leader in regulatory and compliance software solutions, has today announced the acquisition of Plant Assessor, a solution for plant safety and maintenance management in Australia. It is Ideagen's seventh acquisition in 12 months and fourth Australian business to be brought into the Ideagen family since the start of 2023.

Ben Dorks, Ideagen CEO said: "Plant Assessor's software brings an enhanced level of safety to any person working on or around large plant machinery.

"Adding Plant Assessor into the Ideagen suite of solutions strengthens our EHS product portfolio, enabling us to provide advanced capabilities to our customers, particularly those involved in industries where heavy machinery is commonplace.

“We’re looking forward to helping grow its reach across our global network and excited to start 2024 as we mean to go on, building our global presence in compliance software solutions."

According to government agency Safe Work Australia, machinery operators and drivers are more likely than any other to lose their lives in the workplace. In 2022 'mobile plant and transport' was the most common cause of fatal injury with 'machinery and fixed plant' the third, reinforcing the need for adoption of advanced safety measures, like those provided by Plant Assessor.

Paul Dean, CEO and founder of Plant Assessor, echoed Ben's comments: "Joining Ideagen represents a fantastic opportunity for both our team and our clients.

"We are confident that this acquisition will allow us to deliver even better products and services to our existing customers while expanding the reach of our innovative solutions through Ideagen's global network."

Plant Assessor, established in 2004, has earned a reputation in the Australian market for its innovative software which helps businesses manage plant and equipment safety and compliance.

The software is designed to streamline and simplify the process of monitoring and managing plant and equipment safety. At its core, the software is a comprehensive digital platform that provides a detailed risk assessment for each piece of machinery, highlighting any potential hazards and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations.

The software also facilitates the management of necessary documentation, such as maintenance records and safety certifications. Through its intuitive interface, Plant Assessor allows businesses to maintain an outstanding level of safety compliance, contributing to safer workplaces, particularly in high-risk industries.

The acquisition of Plant Assessor reinforces Ideagen's commitment to providing comprehensive, industry-leading regulatory and compliance software solutions. It underscores the company's ambition to continually grow and expand to meet the evolving needs of its global customer base.

With more than one million daily users of Ideagen quality, risk, audit, health and safety and collaboration solutions, Ideagen understands the challenges organisation's face in today's complex and increasingly volatile business market.

The agility and pace of change that businesses are operating in makes the functionality of Plant Assessor and its ease of implementation an attractive proposition.

Plant Assessor is Ideagen’s seventh acquisition of 2023 following Qadex (now Ideagen Quality Management Food and Beverage) in January, Ideagen Tritan and Ideagen OnePlace Solutions in May, Ideagen DevonWay in September, Ideagen Lucidity in October and Ideagen OpCentral in November.
