Machinery compliance made easy for dealers

Written by Plant Assessor | August 2018

After exploring our Plant Assessor values last month, we thought we’d dig a little deeper into how our members get value out of the Plant Assessor software itself.

While it’s a fantastic tool for any company that works with plant and machinery, each of our members use the software differently depending on their industry and the size of their business. Broadly speaking though, almost all of our members fall under two main types – suppliers and owners. Let’s take a closer look at how suppliers – specifically dealers – get the most value out of Plant Assessor.

What’s in it for Dealers?

As suppliers of plant and machinery, dealers have a positive obligation to follow the hazard identification and risk assessment process and provide the resulting safety information to purchasers. Our software makes it easy to meet this obligation by distilling hundreds of complex safety standards and regulations, as well as decades of experience and knowledge, into simple yes/no surveys that anyone can answer. And as more and more organisations, particularly councils and tier 1 contractors, are getting serious about their safety processes, dealers are already being asked to provide risk assessments as part of the tender process. With many customers already using Plant Assessor as their chosen safety system, being a PA member will help you win the sale when the time comes.

Plant Assessor risk assessments are DIY and available anytime, which means that the sale will never be delayed while you’re waiting for an outside assessor and you can update your assessment anytime just in case there are any last minute changes to the machine.

Key Features for Dealers –

Sale Risk Assessments:  we have over 100,000 machines in our database with customised assessments. By selecting ‘Sale’ as the purpose when creating an assessment, dealers and other suppliers can produce a comprehensive Risk Management Report for their customers which includes a ‘Purchaser’s Acknowledgement’ section at the end so you can get a signed copy for your records to show that you have met your obligations.

Transfer – Sold to PA Member: Did you know that you can transfer a machine with its assessment directly to your customer through Plant Assessor? All you need to know is their email address they use for their PA login. The machine and assessment will be transferred to their membership immediately.

If the purchaser doesn’t already use Plant Assessor, they can sign up for a PA Free membership to accept the transfer.

Plant Assessor stores your machine and assessment report forever, you can access them any time.

With our PAYG membership there is no longer a minimum number of assessments required per year. You can do as few or as many as you wish. If you would like to know more about our PAYG membership and how it can help meet your obligations and sell more machines please contact our friendly team.

Stay tuned next month to find out the most valuable features for plant owners and operators. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns please contact us by filling out the form below, or call us on 1300 728 852.
