Plant Assessor is going to Bauma!

Written by Matt Turner | April 2016

In German it’s known as Internationale Fachmesse für Baumaschinen, Baustoffmaschinen, Bergbaumaschinen, Baufahrzeuge und Baugeräte or Bauma for short and next week Paul Dean and I will be attending this incredible event for the first time.

Bauma is an International Trade Fair for anyone and everyone who works in Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment and is held every three years in Munich.

Bauma is massive. Exhibitor displays and facilities are spread across an area equivalent to the size of 58 sports stadiums and every part of the machinery and construction industry is represented. Since 1954 Bauma has been the birthplace of significant new developments in the plant and equipment industry and we are very excited to see what the 2016 event will unveil.

There will be over 3,400 exhibitors from 57 different countries and they are expecting more than 530,000 visitors representing 200 different nationalities across the week-long event

Paul and I are visiting Bauma for several reasons.

Firstly, we are keen to understand new product releases and R&D being undertaken by our machinery OEM clients including Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, Yanmar and many others.

We also want to see and hear what others are doing throughout the world around machine management and safety monitoring systems. While Plant Assessor is at the cutting edge of cloud-based safety management technology we are always looking at ways to enhance our platform.

We will be meeting up with many Australian clients who are also attending the fair, and maybe even having a stein or two if the opportunity arises.  If you are attending the fair, why not let us know?

Lastly, we are also keen to progress some international opportunities for Plant Assessor in Europe, the Americas and Asia.

I will post a brief report of our visit to Bauma on my return. Auf Wiedersehen!
